AI Credits

How AI credits work, what uses them, and what happens when you run out.

How Credits Work

AI features run on AI credits. Every workspace gets a monthly allowance that is pooled across the whole team and resets at the start of each billing period.

  • Free — 50 credits/month

  • Studio — 1,500 credits/month

  • Professional — 5,000 credits/month

  • Agency — 15,000 credits/month

If your workspace is on an earlier Solo or Starter plan, those continue as they are — Solo includes 400 credits/month and Starter includes 1,500.

What Uses Credits

Credits are consumed by AI actions such as auto-filling a brief, generating a draft, AI revisions, running AI Review, editing with Flo, and brand-voice analysis. Reviewing, commenting, and approving never use credits. Writing, formatting, and structuring a document yourself never use credits either.

Tracking Your Balance

A credit meter in the sidebar shows your remaining balance and how much of your monthly allowance you’ve used. It turns amber as you get low and red when you’re nearly out. Click it to open your billing and usage details.

Unused Credits

On paid plans, unused credits roll over into the next period, up to a cap of twice your monthly allowance. On the Free plan, credits do not roll over — each month starts fresh at 50.

Running Out

If an AI action would exceed your remaining credits, Writerflow lets you know before running it. To get more, you can upgrade your plan or buy an add-on credit pack from Settings → Credits. Your balance refreshes automatically at the start of each billing period.
