Version Control

How document versioning works in Writerflow.

Automatic Versioning

Every time you upload a revision, Writerflow creates a new version. Previous versions are preserved and accessible — nothing is ever overwritten.

Viewing Version History

Click the Versions tab in the document viewer to see all versions. Each version shows:

  • Version number
  • When it was created
  • Who created it
You can click on any previous version to preview its content.

Uploading a Revision

When a reviewer requests changes:

  1. Open the document
  2. Select Upload Revision from the document menu
  3. Paste or upload the updated content
  4. The new version is created and reviewers are notified

Comments and Versions

Comments are tied to the version they were made on. When you upload a new version, previous comments are still visible in the activity history, but new reviewers see a clean document.
